Francesco Matarrese was born in Molfetta, Italy, in 1950.
In his early twenties he launched a successful career as Conceptual artist.
In 1978, with his famous Telegramma di rifiuto, he began a long artistic silence evolving progressively into an impossible catalogue of non-works, an intense artistic research and a collaboration with Mario Tronti.
